Donkey Business

Posted by krashnik On August - 27 - 2008

My latest book!  There are so many things in the world of fitness and nutrition that you would be so surprised by.  The fact that no Americans ever hear of Stevia, Donkey Milk, aspartame, psychological food colors, and an assortment of other secrets amazes me.

Big business and our government tries to hide these facts, but when you own a publishing company, you can write whatever you want.  This book is my opinion on those big businesses, what they are trying to hide, and how you can better your health without them.

More Spiraling Up

Posted by krashnik On August - 22 - 2008

As the year closes in, I just wanted to recap on our current projects.

We have a star wars like Sword Fighting routine being put together. I wish I had some footage or pictures to share to give you an idea of how big this project is. I guess for now you can check this out.

We have a few more books we’re working on. No, I’m not crazy – we have a whole team working on these. There is no way I could possibly do all this on my own. Thanks so much to Amelia, Kim, Natalie, Brandi, Kyle, Margaret, Jasmine, Genevieve, and Jessica. Hmm.. maybe Wilson, too.

Here’es our latest book – The Summit of Success.
This book is designed for personal trainers or anyone who is trying to coach another to success. After being a trainer, coach, mentor for years – we’ve compiled many tactics to help people train better.

Genevieve is in charge of this project and we will be working with some local high schools on an art competition for the interior drawings. Good luck to those high school students who are in the contest! I look forward to reviewing their submissions for some wacky, cool cartoons to keep you entertained when reading this information.

Published!

If you ever wanted to know the fastest way to getting your book on the shelves in your local bookstore, this is the book for you. To get my first book published, I researched for over a year to figure out all the secrets in here.

I wish there were a course at college for upcoming authors. With our internship program at UCSB, we are able to secure some strong literary candidates, but nobody who knows anything about publishing. This is sad to see our graduates don’t have a clue about the publishing industry at all.

With quick wit and a few hours of tutoring, they are able to learn all of this and apply the years of literary critique. Though, it would be nice to see colleges offering courses for upcoming authors. In my own research, I read many scams and documents claiming quick fame that simply weren’t true. I’ll be working more with UCSB to refine their current english program in hopes that our future interns will already have a grasp of the basics in publishing so we can tackle projects in more depth.

Fall Fitness

Posted by krashnik On August - 8 - 2008

Well, another day passes and fall is getting close. We have some exciting new projects going on and I just thought I’d let you know about them.

We are publishing a book by Eric Frimpong on his autobiography. There is much to be done here, but the proceeds will benefit a program we started called Water 4 Africa. If you don’t know, Eric is in State Prison for 5 more years after being convicted of rape. I’ve personally worked with Eric as he is a nationally ranked soccer champion. I personally feel his story should be heard & his family should be helped.

Another project in the area started by my company is Dancing Kids. One of my clients gave me the idea about a year ago and I wish I could get in touch with her to let her know we are actually carrying it out. We will be going into the minority and low-income schools across the city to teach dancing as an alternative to other extracurricular activities that might take them down a path unwanted by anyone in society. When I learned to dance, it was at a cost of $140 per lesson – something that many families just can’t afford. I believe the joy of dancing should be free to all & I really hope America takes up this craze with the same popularity you find in Europe.

Lastly on the charity train is our new bootcamp program. We are now offering our bootcamps free of charge to anyone in the community. I’m really excited about this and hope it will open the eyes of many who couldn’t afford personal training before. Our program is more of a classroom and education than just a bootcamp. I will run the program through the end of October and market it to see how well it goes. I really hope you guys can come & recommend it to your friends. There is no hidden fees, just a fun class like we’ve always taught.

After a long battle, my book is finally in stores across the nation. It is exciting to see it displayed so I took a picture. Some stores are a little slower to shelf it than others, but I went around all the Santa Barbara stores and it is there! You should support your local bookstores like Chaucer & Paradise Found and buy your copies there.

In publishing, we are ready to take on new authors who would like to get published. We have a contest we will start soon for authors in the fitness industry who would like to get their work published. Submit your proposal or manuscripts and we will look it over. I’ll post up more details on the contest in time to come.

I think this is everything? We are still working on a variety of books which you can check out here: http://www.movfitness.com/books.php

If you are interested in our bootcamp program, send me a message. As always, we have personal training available, too which I think everyone should partake in :)

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Yours in health,

Matt Hackney
